01 / THE CHALLENGE
A missing bridge
between two worlds.
While living in China, I identified a need: there was a lack of information in Spanish to help people understand the country and its opportunities.
For many companies in the Spanish-speaking world, understanding China and finding reliable contacts was a barrier. There was interest and there were opportunities, but also distance: language, culture and very different ways of doing business.
The starting question was simple: how could we bring together companies that had so much to share but so few bridges between them?
02 / THE RESPONSE
Information, events
and relationships.
Global Asia was created to make that connection possible. What began as a need for information became a platform that, for more than ten years, brought together companies and institutions from Spain, China and Latin America.
- A bilingual magazine in Spanish and Chinese, Global Asia Magazine.
- Digital channels covering business, culture and opportunities.
- Events and meetings that brought together companies, institutions and executives.
- Communication services for companies interested in these markets.
03 / MY ROLE
Leading
the project.
As founder and director, my job was to turn an idea into a project that was sustainable and relevant to both sides:
- Business proposition: defining what to offer, to whom and how to make it viable.
- Brand: building an identity that was recognisable in two cultures.
- Commercial and institutional relationships: opening doors with companies, public administrations and organisations.
- Multicultural teams: coordinating people from different countries and ways of working.
04 / GLOBAL ASIA MAGAZINE
A magazine
that opened doors.
The magazine was the heart of the project: a bilingual Spanish–Chinese edition designed to help companies on both sides get to know each other, understand each other and discover opportunities.
In November 2013, China Club recognised it as the best Spain–China business magazine.

05 / FROM CONTENT TO RELATIONSHIPS
Bringing together
the decision-makers.
Information generated interest, but business is built on relationships. That is why the project moved on to in-person events.
We co-organised the 2011 Global China Business Meeting in Valencia, which brought together more than 400 business leaders. The Global Asia Awards gathered representatives of companies and institutions and strengthened the project’s position as a meeting point.
06 / RECOGNITION AND REACH
A voice
in international forums.
While leading Global Asia, I took part in person as a Media Leader at World Economic Forum meetings in China and Latin America.
In 2016 I received the Cátedra China Award for my work at the helm of Global Asia.

WHAT THIS EXPERIENCE BRINGS TO YOUR COMPANY
Opening up a market takes
a relevant proposition
and relationships built on trust.
When a company wants to open up a market, it needs a relevant proposition and relationships built on trust. Global Asia provides hands-on experience in both, as well as in coordinating teams across cultures.
- Exploring new markets, including across very different cultures.
- Adapting your value proposition to a new audience.
- Building business and institutional relationships that open doors.
